captures the essence of the five “Divas” and depicts their roles in the
United States society during a time when women were seen and not heard.
The audience will experience Bessie Smith's love for life and her
independence; Billie Holiday's talented music career and friendship
with Lena Horne; Sarah Vaughan's sometimes comedic manner; Josephine
Baker's love for Paris and her cutting edge stage performances and Lena
Horne's sophisticated and trend setting life. The production is
introduced with a slide narration of life in the 1940s.
Throughout the run their will be special guest performers.
