Lori Jones and Donna Groman for Judge!!!

by on Oct.05, 2004, under News

Generally music and politics don't go together but, in this case,

here  are 2 people who love music and believes in justice! Their names are Lori Jones and Donna Groman.

Lori Jones has

served as a Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney since 1989. For

the past 15 years, she has been a strong and effective advocate for

truth and has been lead prosecutor in over 100 felony cases within the

Hardcore Gang and Family Violence Units. She has successfully

prosecuted gang leaders and those involved in murder and armed robbery.

She has also been involved in high profile media eases, which has

exposed her to the importance of balancing the desires of the public

while still maintaining the privacy rights of each individual.

A

native Angelino, Lori was born and raised in South Central Los Angeles.

She understands the importance of self-reliance, having worked since

she was old enough to acquire a worker's permit. After graduating from

George Washington High School , she supported herself while earning her

undergraduate degree at Loyola Marymount University and through Law

School as well. She received her Law Degree in 1987 from The University

of the Pacific, Mc George School of Law.

Lori

Jones has enjoyed memberships with the American Inns of Court, the Los

Angeles County Bar Association, the Langston Bar Association, The Black

Women Lawyers Bar Association, the California District Attorney's

Association and the National Black Prosecutor's Association.

Continuously

giving back to the community, Lori has been on the Board of Directors

for Youth Intervention Program (YIP) and now sits on the Board of

Tessie Cleveland's Organization, a foundation dedicated to improving

the lives of African American children and their families who are

gravely over represented in the nation's child welfare system. She is

active within her local Church and believes that volunteering should be

an integral part of our community.

Lori

Jones' diverse background represents the essence of what is best about

Los Angeles . She is a single parent and a woman of color from the

inner city, with very strong ties to the community that is most served

by our judicial system. She maintains sensitivity to our city's issues

but most simply has passion for the law and its proper and unbiased

application. As judge, Lori Jones will maintain the highest standards

of integrity, unfettered by race, religion, or political or economic

pressure. She is best suited among the candidates to serve our

community impartially and with an even hand based on her years in the

city of Los Angeles .
