Frank Strazzeri Quartet
Once again I dropped by LACMA on a Friday evening
for free summer jazz. Frank Strazzeri was there and the cool West Coast
sounds were blowing with tones that please in the cool summer breeze.
Frank was holding down the fort with some LA’s finest players
in his band. On Drums, my man Don Littleton, holding together an even
foundation of tits and tats because he does it like that! George Harper
plays Tenor in the front line along with Dick Forrest on Trumpet.
Harvey Newmark rounds out the rhythm section on bass.
Frank has been playing jazz music for a long time
and he continues to maintain such a wonderful touch. Skill, experience
and technical excellence is always displayed while playing standards
which include tune from many of the greats, Charlie Parker being the
one that sticks in my mind.
Friends and family all came out to
experience great music and the sounds of jazz music in the summertime.
Come on out to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and be a part of
the music yourself!
