San Francisco Trip

As you can tell from the McCoy article, I had a great time up in San Francisco. I stayed in the East Bay with some friends who own a great restaurant in Berkeley called Zatar! It is Mediterranean food and it is absolutely incredible. If you are up in SF, you have to go and tell them that I sent you!
I arrived there on Thursday night late and had a nice little appetizer. On Friday I went over to SF in the Mission
district to have breakfast in a place called Squat and Gobble. Crepes
are what is happening in this town and this place is one of a few that
serves them up in a man size portion. Then off to SF State where I
spent some time in the library checking out some books on jazz back in
the day. Reading about all of the troubles of the day and the ban on
recording for over a year.
For lunch it was crepes again. This time at a place called Ti Couz.
The crepes here are DIVINE! Try the shrimp and scallop crepe for the
ultimate in hedonistic pleasure. You will thank me later! Here is a link to an article
Then of course at 10pm it was my first time at Yoshi's. McCoy and
the band were off the hook. Check out the article under McCoy at
Yoshi's. I hung out with my man Eric Harland for a short piece and the
night was over.
Saturday, it's off to SF again for breakfast for none other than
CREPES! I forget the name of this joint but I did shoot a picture of
the owners. Hung out with some friends and at breakfast and then went
to shoot some film for a television project that I am going to pitch!
It will be called “Hangin with the Jazzcats”. Believe me; you will know
well in advance when it is time for it to air.
I also saw some music at the Marriot in downtown SF and went to see
Marcus Shelby and his Orchestra at Bruno's. A very musically enriching
trip!
