Hydeus Kiatta, singer, songwriter and my lovely love fought as hard as she could with Stage 4 Colon Cancer. She now has wings to soar and match the peaks of her beautiful voice.

This is the journey of my beautiful love
Hydeus Kiatta

After many months of feeling poorly, vocalist Hydeus Kiatta, at age 32 (now 34), was diagnosed with colon cancer with metastasis to her liver.  In late May 2004, she had colo-rectal surgery at LAC+USC Hospital in Los Angeles to remove the tumor in her colon.  She had recoved well from surgery and had begun chemotherapy which started on July 8th..  After six months of chemotherapy, she had surgery on her liver to hopefully remove the liver lesions that were present. Through it all she has maintained a positive attitude and always looks forward to being well again.

Hydeus began graduate school in August at University of Southern California, in Jazz studies, with an emphasis on performance and composition.  She had planned on continuing the jazz studies program in the fall, but just recently, she has had to withdraw from all of her classes due to a turn for the worst in her health.  Her employers--LA Philharmonic and the Park's Department where she taught music lessons-- have been very supportive and held her position in the event that she would return to work.

We are asking for you to always remember, love, and honor the music, spirit and angelic soul of a woman that many of us all hold so close to our hearts.

We are in the process of setting up a foundation that will contribute musical instruments and education for children with cancer in honor of our dear Hydeus
