The fourth and final Jazz Appreciation Workshops by master trombonist Phil Ranelin.

This workshop will feature memorabilia, recordings, videos and oral histories from friends, fans and fellow musicians of the legendary multi-reed virtuoso, Eric Dolphy.

 This workshop is the final presentation of Ranelin’s 2004-2005 Artist-In-Residency at Westminster Presbyterian Church, founded in 1904, the oldest African American Presbyterian Church west of the Mississippi River.  The workshop will take at:

This Jazz Appreciation Workshop is free and open to the public and is made possible in part by a Cultural Arts Grant from the City of Los Angeles, Department of Cultural Affairs’ Artist-In-Residence Program, helping Phil Ranelin to present one concert (which took place November 19, 2004) and four Jazz Appreciation Workshops in The Honorable Martin Ludlow’s 10th Councilmanic District.  It is a collaborative project co-sponsored by Westminster Presbyterian Church, Build Crenshaw Arts, Westminster Jefferson Park Housing Corporation, Jazz Genesis Exhibition, William Grant Still Community Arts Center and the Baldwin Hills Los Angeles Public Library.  For more information please call (323) 734-1164  and continue to visit:
