Just Jazz Pop up presents Katalyst @ Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Thusday Feb 21st
by jazzcat on Feb.17, 2019, under News
To celebrate Black History month, Baldwin Hills Crenshaw, Our Crenshaw TV, All Music Television and the JazzCat LeRoy Downs present a Just Jazz Live Concert Series Jazz Pop Up event featuring a live performance by Inglewood-based jazz collective Katalyst and the Fernando Pullum Community Arts Center Student Jazz Ensemble.
Katalyst has played in venues large and small, including the prestigious Walt Disney Concert Hall with the Inner City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles, backing recording artist Dion at Talib Kweli and Hi-Tek’s Reflection Eternal concert at the Belasco Theater, and a host of events and concerts in the Los Angeles area.
Their style of music can best be described as “Contemporary Instrumental”. Whether it’s scoring an independent film, producing tracks for artists, or arranging and performing an artist’s music for a live show, Katalyst has all the elements to bring musical visions to life.
The Fernando Pullum Community Arts Center jazz band, located in Leimert Park, recently played in the MLK Day Parade and also recorded new music in the John Lennon Bus. They also perform weekly for residents of local senior centers and regularly perform at various community events. Consider making a tax deductible donation to the FPCAC or purchase tickets to their Annual Gala in Hollywood, California in May, 2019 by clicking here — https://www.pullumcenter.org and mention #allmusictelevision or #justjazzconcert
